I hate free time
Today is mine. It’s beautiful out, I have no work to do. My laundry is done, house is clean, errands are complete. Now what do I do?
It’s already 9 and I am paralyzed with indecision and don’t want to waste any time here! Do I hike? Do I go sit at a cafe with my book? Do I go see my family? Have coffee with my friend? Should I go to that nature museum in Denver? Should I ride my bike on the new trail that is open to Longmont?
I hate free time. It’s way too stressful.

haha, I know what you mean. If I don’t have every minute of my day scheduled I lose my mind!
@justfinethanku - It’s awful! And what’s worse is the feeling that I am wasting it
Going to just get in the car I think, and we will see where it takes me!
i looove free time… and i usually just act like a slug lol … just stay on xanga all day… there! problem solved!
haha usually I tend to agree, because I waste a lot of my free time, but right now its the first free time for me in the past 2 weeks so I am just going to sit here on my butt and enjoy it! hahaha
as for you, I vote either read or bike ride!
what you need is a motorcycle that goes from zero to 80 in 5 seconds…
Stay online all day and refresh your Xanga feed every ten minutes. There will be other nice days.
Ride your bike to Longmont.
Let us know where you end up.
You should go to the river fishing with me and my dudes!
No day is a FREE DAY! We all pay a cost for each day we have! When you feel like your day is lapsing into a coma go do something worthwhile for someone else! VOLUNTEER food pantries, nursing homes, Shelters, children centers all need help! Make your Free day worth more than you ever thought it could by paying it forward a little bit! You will be amazed at how little a free day costs! Have fun!
I am in agreement to this!
Free time SUCKS!
I always feel like I SHOULD be doing something. Even on lazy Sundays I have ”schedule” of things to do! Example: shower, eat breakfast/lunch, go for a walk or to the park & read. Go to get some tea somewhere. Text friends. Maybe watch a movie or two! LOL
I have it all planned out.
Free time drives me nuts!
{But not nuts enough to clean…. I hate cleaning more then free time! I tend to keep my place tidy slowly clean during the week}
The problem with the biking idea is that you end up in Longmont.
I have too much free time everyday.
Shimmer and I will be there shortly.
LONGMONT! I got in trouble at a Border’s in Longmont and then I ended up at Coors and the next thing I know I’m standing in a wedding. Longmont…so many good memories that I should have but can’t remember.
When feelings like this happen to me I usually end up doing nothing.
So just pick something that feels right and you’ll probably end up being able to do a couple of things by the end of the day that’s aaaaall yours
It seems to me you should convert your neighbors to Buddhism. And how about that cure for cancer? There is a lot to do.
@Peridot21 - Xanga all day, I do that when I am supposed to be working!
@raspberryjade - Thanks! Headed out on the bike this afternoon!
@roscoes_farm - And a hottie to drive it!
@dirtbubble - 10 minutes?!?! Oh no, sir, like every minute! Who knows when I may get another footprint!
@RighteousBruin - Great advice! We hiked this morning and I am riding this afternoon!
@ClashoftheTaiten - I’m lost!
Quick hike this morning, out to ride my bike this afternoon!
@the_fur_pimp - I’m all over that!
@GrimRpr000 - I do volunteer! Just not today!
@karoline1982 - Your lazy day sound a lot like mine!
@HappierHeathen - But I can always go home!
@ANVRSADDAY - How do you not go crazy?
@Kellsbella - Where are you? I’m wearing the red!
@godfatherofgreenbay - That sounds just like Longmont!
@specialxplaces - Thanks! I picked two, but I had to leave the house or I would have wasted it too!
@we_deny_everything - Everybody knows that Chuck Norris’s tears cure cancer. Too bad he never cries.
@BoulderChristina - Ain’t nuthin’ better than getting home after visiting Longmont!
I’m sure it’s a nice enough place but I only visited Longmont when I lived in Big Thompson Canyon. By comparison, pretty much everything out on the flats sucked.
@HappierHeathen - You western slopes peeps are impossible to please! You’re like mountain snobs!
@BoulderChristina - We got sidetracked. Shimmer said we could get our kicks on Route 66……
@BoulderChristina - It is actually easy and frustrating a way. I retired and transitioned into a stay at home househusband doing housework and daily odd jobs that my wife assigns.
frank
@ANVRSADDAY - I want a stay at home husband! She’s so lucky!
@Kellsbella - She’s trying to cut me out! She wants you all to herself!
@BoulderChristina - that’s so cool!
It can be, yes. I love free time a little to much though!
@BoulderChristina - Ya know, the novelty of being called a snob by a Boulderite is absolutely delicious. You just made my day!
Longmont probably has quite a lot going for it but I’m just not a big town or flat land kinda guy. When I lived over that way, I always figured that if I were forced to live on the flats I’d go look for a place in Hygiene — but I belonged up in BTC with others of my disreputable kind.
@HappierHeathen - And disreputable you are! I’m a Boulderite through and through, baby!
@amateurprose - Just watched your Vlog, you have way too much energy to love free time too much!
@BoulderChristina - I was just out cleaning up an oil spill in my garage and it occurred to me that my words came out all wrong. I don’t consider Boulder a snobbish place!
I suppose adding any more words would be digging my hole under the doghouse just that much deeper, eh?
@HappierHeathen – everyone knows boulderites are self absorbed, self righteous snobs. I don’t mind!
@BoulderChristina - I’ve met a few of that sort but they’re everywhere — a lot more of ‘em between here and there than on either end!
F r e e t i m e ?
What’s that?
To bad you are not in Denver. My wife is there while my daughter is doing things with her conference. Got any suggestions? I’ll mention the nature museum. Right now she is sitting in a coffee shop and “people watching.” I usually love free time. I also kinda like being bored.
@vexations - The aquarium is also awesome, if she is into that sort of thing. Want me to go have coffee with her? She could give me the dirt on you!
@Aloysius_son - Hehe, it’s not as cool as it sounds!
Oh, shoot—bad idea. Actually you would find her very charming and she would sing my praises. I have her snowed so far. @BoulderChristina -
dogs love when their masters get a lot of free time, we usually wish you’d take us to the beach or a lake or swimming.
@NewDog2 - I did just that! He posted our day in his own blog, however!
@BoulderChristina - dogs enjoy going out 3, 4 or 5 times in a day, a dog can never get in too much swimming.
@vexations - you have all us snowed, i think.
@promisesunshine - Darn, you weren’t supposed to see that. So, you come by here often?
@vexations - sure. boulder and i go way back.
We both have a South Dakota history but we don’t go way back……
