We made it back
Quick rundown of Vegas -
It wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be. It was fun, and great to spend the time with my family and watch my sister get married, but even with the cool Red Rock Canyon it wouldn’t be my vacation place of choice.
We left at 4 am.
This is my brother and his girlfriend, Samantha. We picked them up in FC Friday morning and spent most of our time with them.
2
We did enjoy 2 dollar margaritas, though.
Samantha and I met BumbleBee.
The next day I went for a run in Red Rock Canyon park. It was cold when I started and hot when I finished, but pretty all the way. No snakes, spiders or wildcats caught me.
The stone kitchen was used by Native Americans, you can’t see the fire pit where they cooked food. I thought it was strange that it was in such great shape.
After the wedding, we went to the Stratosphere.
That’s my dad, still holding his football shaped margarita.
This is my mom, her drink is as big as she is.
They have been married for 38 years now.
Everyone was hot, tired, and had too much to drink. We next went to the Old Strip, which was so much cooler.
Everyone’s feet were tired, so Corey started taking care of sore feet.
The next day, I did nothing other than lay by the pool. I had no desire to see anymore, drink anymore, eat anymore.
Now we are home, recovering. I am so grateful there is no indoor smoking in CO. Sorry about the length of this post, but there was so much to see. Next family trip will be somewhere with fewer flashy lights, I hope!
It’s so good to be home.

Your mother is a hottie, even at her age.The canyon looked like it needs to be on my list of things to do. Glad you are back.

Woo showgirls. I am glad you showed them. And I know about those stratosphere drinks.
Looks like fun, and what a beautiful hike! I agree about being grateful co doesn’t allow indoor smoking. The smoke in vegas bothered me too!

Glad everyone enjoyed themselves and gets loads of rest
Where was Elvis all this time ? Thank you very much.
margaritas always make for an enjoyable trip
I’m with everyone else, that first pic is hilarious.
@vexations - That’s what I heard! haha. You should go see it, it was every bit as serene and spectacular as the mountains. I am glad to be back, too
@SisterMae - That’s what I love about you!
@we_deny_everything - I bet you do! Those drinks should be illegal, they taste too good to be so bad for you! The showgirls were indeed very entertaining
@voodoo_flower_child - We still can’t breathe right! I will never go inside a smoking building again, if I have a choice anyway!
@xdeelynnx - You are so sweet! We are still recovering, but maybe tomorrow!
@catstemplar2 - He was busy marrying my sister to her man. Those pics weren’t on my phone, sorry!
@godfatherofgreenbay - Amen!
@Shadowrunner81 - He deserves it!
The pictures of your run are breathtaking, Christina. Such beauty in all of them. Total wide open spaces. Totally tubular, G/F! Ya, I know. That’s a really old saying but it fits. Sounds like you had an enjoyable time and FTR – I normally stay some where near the old strip. It’s more my style. Rest well… I see you got Corey back for the sleepy pic he took of you. Good one!!! ((((HUGS)))) for both of you… Glad you are back. You have truly been missed by this lady…
@MzSilver - Thank you, you are too kind! I have a much better picture that I was planning to post, but rather changed my mind and will use it as leverage to make him behave!
I think we share the same style, you and I. I did enjoy the feel of the old strip much more than the new, and the buffet was better, too!So glad to be back, you were missed as well.
Good to see you back. The photos of Red Rock canyon are delicious. The Strip is, well, the Strip- nuff said.
@RighteousBruin - I thought of you out there, you are the only one I know in that area that hikes! When I started it was in the 50′s and within two hours it was nearly 80. I couldn’t believe how fast it changed! It was very clear path, and I wasn’t worried about hidden snakes!
I am glad you enjoyed the pics, and you are right. There isn’t much more that needs to be said about the strip!
cool blog, I enjoyed it very much
@DivaJyoti - You’re such a sweetie. I am having trouble forming a blog that is anymore than a picture story. I just seem to have nothing interesting to talk about lately!
@BoulderChristina - You’ve been busy!
great pics… looks like it was a fun trip
@Peridot21 - Thanks! All in all, it was fun!
Now that looks like so much fun and I love you sense of humor. great photos.
@Grannys_Place - Thank you!
That looks like it was a really fun trip! It’s someplace the hubs and I have never been since we neither gamble nor drink and thought that’s all Las Vegas was for. Looks like there’s more to it than we thought. Great pictures! And your folks look like really fun people. Who was the sleepy guy on the bus pole? That’s a funny one.
@Ampbreia – not much more than that to do! It’s not somewhere we will go again unless we go with friends or family. The sleepy dork is my hubby
