Temporary Leave of Absence
Hi guys! Most of you know that my husband is starting a new job speaking about educational gaming and using technology and gaming as an educational tool, but to do this he has to have a presence in both the education and the gamer world. Long story short, he created a card game and launched it on Kickstarter last week. As I am not the gaming guru he is, I have not been terribly involved with this project until now – and now he needs help getting the word out so this can be funded for him.
Because of this, I am blogging on WordPress about the project and the ups and downs of launching a new business in an effort to find people interested in the game, and if not interested in the game, interested in a stumbling Kickstarter project. That doesn’t mean I will be there forever, Xanga is my home. I do need to focus on finding readers and a following there, however, to support my distraught husband and get the word out, grassroots style.
So, please don’t think I am abandoning ship for other blog sites, I promise this is only temporary. I will come post about something more fun when I absolutely can’t stand missing Xanga anymore and this project either sinks or swims.
For those of you with a wordpress account, please add me. It would be nice to see some familiar, friendly faces.

For any gamers out there, here is a shameless plug and link to his Kickstarter campaign. If you aren’t a gamer (which few of you are) pass it on to anyone who you know that would like to play Goblin Pit Fight.

I will check back here every few days or week or so to see what you are all up to. Thanks for being a home base for me!

Have fun!
@Thatslifekid - It will be interesting!
You will be missed. I love the things you write about.
@ANVRSADDAY - Thank you so much
I won’t be gone long, and I will pop in during the meantime!
I just visited the kickstarter site. I was curious because I have a nephew, who with his brothers, were always gaming. he did his master’s on technology and teaching, science I believe. I thought he might be interested in this. But I’m curious where the educational tie in is?
@ccrider17 – I’m sorry, I should have been more clear. This isn’t educational at all
he’s trying to build a network of gamers before we launch his educatonal stuff
@ccrider17 – Thanks for checking it out though!
I’ll check out the kickstarter tonight when I get home! My partner and I are big into games and we attend a game night (really a euphemism for swing/play party). I’ll even pass the info on to them because we are always checking out and trying new games! Good luck!!!!
I am curious – I shall check this out.
go support your husband….
good luck with it… and see you when you get back!
wait… i didn’t even get a hug or a kiss…
bestest wishes bc and hub… go fight win!
Awe you will be missed funny girl…know that you are loved and when I get my act together I will come visit you their too right now it is hard to keep my mind on even posting on Xanga …I am not a gamer but I have kids that are so I will pass this on
Isn’t the term “educational gaming” an oxymoron?
good luck
@BoulderChristina - Ohhh, I seee… Well when the educational stuff is ready, let me know. And good luck.
I’ll miss you. but I’ll also go over and check things out at WordPress. k? (hugs) the best of luck to your husband in getting the game off the ground.
Sounds like an exciting new adventure but don’t be a stranger around here! Best of luck!
BC, I’m not a gamer but my 13-year-old is. (He’s a site admin for one of these silly games.) I shall pop back over here and have my son play Cory’s game. Will he ever be able to handle the critique of a teenager? Teenagers typically cause adults to seek counseling.
Hope your husband will find the funds for the program.
@forever_musing - Swing play, hehe
Thanks for checking him out, that’s very sweet
@SherryAngeLMysteriez - Even if you aren’t into games are interested in art in general, it’s a really cool place. Thanks!
@mlbncsga -Thank you
They always need support, don’t they? “Where’s my socks?” “In the sock drawer”..
@Peridot21 -Thank you, and I just can’t seem to stay away from this place! There’s no place like home, Toto!
@xplorrn -Your kiss is waiting here for you to come get it, baby!!
@SisterMae - It’s hard to keep up sometimes, isn’t it? I have had absences here too, luckily for us, it is always here waiting for us!
@ThereWillBeDragons -Heck no!
@godfatherofgreenbay - Thank you thank you
@plantinthewindow - Thanks John
You really are such a dear friend. I can’t stay away from Xanga long, and do I have an idea for you!! I am going to post it in a bit
@Kellsbella - Teens do cause adults mental distress! He is under some distress anyway, and we are re-doing the art work. I will post and fill you all in (because you are dying to know, aren’t you?
)
@angys_coco - Thanks, Angy! Whether he does or doesn’t -this has been a great learning experience so far!
@BoulderChristina - I tell you, their critiques were graphics, and similarities to Pokemon. I thought it looked extremely cool. Then again, I’ve never played a video game in my life. Over here, silly J. and M. got me involved in Dungeons and Dragons which I very much enjoyed.
I do not know what age group C. is targeting. If he would like to chat with some obnoxious 13-year-olds, I’ll gladly submit their sites…….(inserts evil laugh)
@Kellsbella - Graphics were the biggest issue. We are hoping that by Friday our son in law (vegan artist) will have mock ups for new trolls, err… goblins- and we can use those. I saw them last night, kinda creepy but I guess that’s the genre? Pokemon – ha! I will have to tell him that, I don’t think he knows what a Pokemon is!!
@BoulderChristina - I sure as hell don’t. Are you sure you want a vegan to do your graphics? (I hear that they secretly eat children for a midnight snack.)
@BoulderChristina - one part of me has already departed – we’ll see if the rest follows suit…
@BoulderChristina - I hear ya, Dorothy!
