The Weather Outside is Frightful
This is for @Vexations – I can’t wait for spring to really come to Boulder for more than a day or two. Bill always teases me with photos of spring and flowers, I can’t wait to post my spring and flower pictures for him, too!
Snow in Estes Park this morning.
And here is Fort Collins this morning.
The Interstate is closed and we are expecting up to a foot of snow. Again. In April.
The IRS and Mother Nature are working together to make sure this is an extra special Monday. I have an article due today, so I guess it’s a good day to stay inside anyway

OMG, yes, I just talked to my brother in South Dakota and he says they have more snow and storms on the way to Eastern SD. Thanks for the mention….enjoy you snowy day…PS — we know there is no beauty like the beauty of snow on the trees sparkling in the sunlight.
We’re catching snow over this-a-way, too. Through Wednesday, they say.

Same here!!! We had a huge snowstorm over the weekend and it’s going to snow again today. This is really getting old. It started snowing in October, enough is enough. Hoping for spring soon for us both!
@voodoo_flower_child - Do it now, because this is going to get worse and last until sometime tomorrow. Grab some wine and marshmallows for me, please!

@BoulderChristina - Yep, it blew in last night. It’s been an odd Spring — there’s lush green grass under the six inches or so of snow we’ve got so far.
I’ll bet there are many in Estes who’d love to photoshop the elk out!
I thought being in Canada, I have to put up with it. But I am glad that I am not only one in the same predicament. We too have been having snow storms, and this is suppose to be Spring!

@BoulderChristina - But on the up side, the elk don’t carry bubonic plague around in their fleas. On the down, CWD is probably not fun to have. So, uh, I don’t have a point. Or grace enough to not submit this comment.
Now I’ll be singing that Christmas carol until I turn on the radio, but it’s a nice song. Snow is pretty and can be fun (glad I got to see some at Christmas) but I know after months of it, people tend to want it gone, tired are they of shoveling, and layering clothes, of moping up tracked in puddles. But see my last post (poem), Spring has its drawbacks too, as each season does.

Wow! The weather has been up and down and allover the place this year! We ran the furnace last week, and this week, we are supposed to have record highs (80′s). The remarks about elk in Estes Park reminds me of when we were there. I got rather clos to one and decided it was a very bad idea! They’re BIG!
It’s pretty! We’re finally getting our spring here.I’ts a muggy 66 right now with a high of 84 predicted for the day.
No Snow in my neighborhood. The Sun is actually out. But the rest of the week is rain off and on. Stay Warm!!! Nice photos.

we didn’t have that much snow but any snow this time of the year is traumatic because it’s supposed to be spring
I almost ran into a tree this morning on my way to class. Hit a patch of ice and my car started going sideways instead of forward. Still have Physics this afternoon to go to.
Down here, we just got the cool air and wind. Here’s hoping for a final end to THAT STUFF. You don’t need a repeat of last May.
Spring finally arrived here a week ago. I was able to plant lettuce, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and rosemary.
@HappierHeathen - Well, I live in Estes, and we have over 15 in. now and still snowing hard. And on days like this, we bring the elk in so they’ll look nice for the tourists next weekend.
@ThereWillBeDragons - Ours seems to have petered out for now and is all going just south of us. It looks like it wants to break over the Divide and go to your house.
That’s awful nice, bringing in the critters like that. We let raccoons in a few times, and once a fox, when we lived between The Narrows and Drake, but it was all by accident. The kid got more careful about closing the door after watching our local mountain lion hunting bighorns on the canyon wall behind the house, and from then on the critters had to brave the cold on their own.

It’s hard to believe that it’s snowing right now, in other states (sans Alaska). It was pretty damn warm today. I was sweating a bit, waiting at the stop light today.
yeah im waiting rather impatinetly for spring to get here and stay. it snowed last night. its the latest in the season i could ever remember it snowing.
It’s been a White Spring…a Weird Spring!
and spent time doing med tests and in doc offices.
