Surprise!
First of all, thank you to everyone who checked in on me during the fire and after the shooting - it is so good to know people think of me! It has been a crazy summer, we have traveled and been busy with camping, hiking, family and now summer is half over.
I am not even sure where to start with updating everyone on what has been going on, but let me start with the big news - my oldest daughter, Cassidy, is pregnant. She is 22 and has been on her own for 2 years now. She and her boyfriend have been dating for a little over a year. And she is pregnant. I am still processing all of this and not quite sure how I feel about it, but I guess how I feel about it isn't important.
We have been spending time in Fort Collins and trying to sort things out, which may include renting out our condo and moving down there to support her for a couple of years. It has been a whirlwind of change. I had no idea how much being pregnant myself affected my own parents before now.
So, congratulations to Cassidy and Kevin -

But please, I am so not ready for the "G" word yet!

@BoulderChristina - pounce- truth!
aw! babies are such a gift! congratulations :)
Aww but you just wait-that G word is the most wonderful word in the world. You just wait til that baby is laying in your arms and you are looking down into it"s eyes. It will own you:):) just like mine own me.
@Maria_Westcott - Thank you
I got pregnant with my daughter at 19 years old. My boyfriend (who is my husband now) were off and on. My mom wasn't ready for the surprise of her little girl being pregnant. I look at it she is an adult and that's what matters. If you brought her up right then she will be as great as a mom as your were ;)
@Grannys_Place - I believe you
It's just... well.. I don't know when I would have felt ready for this, but she didn't consult me first! Hahaha
@korlar - I was much, much younger than she is now. I have no doubt she will be an even better mother, but it's hard because she is my baby still. I think I am still a little bit shocked by it.
You don't seem old enough to have a 22 year old daughter! And it's so great you are all there for her. She's lucky and congratulations!
That's awesome news! Congrats to them =)
@EmilyandAtticus - I agree, I am not old enough for this!
Thank you, we tend to stick together when we need to!
@electrons_in_hatius_2009 - Thank you
You are an amazing mother. She is so blessed to have your support. Im sure it isnt easy and you have mixed feelings, but its wonderful how you are focusing on how you can help her. Youre a treasure.
Awww baby ^_^
@YouToMe - Thank you for your kind words
