It’s all about me
I wanted to wait to come on Xanga until I had time to catch up with all my friends, come up with something to write about, etc. I think if I wait that long you will have forgotten me, and I certainly don’t want you to forget me.
Here is what has been keeping me away from Xangaville.
1. My company sold and job is ending. At first I was in a panic, I started writing my resume and sending it out all willy-nilly. Then I realized I don’t think I want to go back to 9 to 5, so I am moving into freelance writing and editing. I am going to do some grant writing, ghost writing, and focusing on building my life around writing, which is what I love anyway.
2. My dear Corey has been keeping me very busy. He is starting his new speaking gig and launching games at the same time, which really means we are writing his training manuals, lesson plans, and blogging for his site. His first game wasn’t funded, but it was published. His second game launched yesterday and is already funded nearly 4 times his goal, and I expect that will go to manufacturing as well.
3. Cassie (my daughter) is nearly due. Her baby shower is this Saturday and her due date is St. Patty’s day, so we are rushing about getting ready for the new grandbaby.
My apologies for neglecting you – you are some of my favorite people and it gets frustrating to be so distracted. I can see that my world is changing again, so I am sure you will be seeing me around more. It could be on your street corner holding up a “Will write for food” sign. Or maybe even, “Will right for food”.
Wish me luck, and I will be seeing you around much more in the near future!

No shame in taking a break from your blog for a while
I think that if people stay on it too consistently, they go through the ghost phase due to boredom. Blessings with your busy life!
@ChainBracelets - Thanks! I keep coming and going – hopping on for 5 or 10 minutes at a time, forgetting what I am doing or get drug in another direction. I thank you for the well wishes!
@BoulderChristina - Anytime, beautiful! IIIIIII know how that feels. Usually it’s with my school work, I allow myself to get distracted because I despise homework.
You really do have a whole lot going on! Good luck with everything and I’d love to hear how your freelance writing and editing turns out.
Sometimes real life keeps us busy. I hope you can create the job you want.
@ItsAll_A_LoveWar - Thanks, I will. I have my first book to edit so I think it will turn out all right. In case it doesn’t, do you have a spare room? A couch perhaps?
@TheTheologiansCafe - Thanks, Dan. Real life knows how to interfere with fun, doesn’t it? Oh, and I am saving myself for you, too.
On Fetlife more than on Xanga these days. Anyway you go grrl.
@TheCellOfDougMoe - I heard that was a cool site. Maybe someday I can venture that way.
Life happens when you make other plans. Good to know you’re with us. I haven’t been posting as much. A nasty cold and other dramas and just being lazy. Sure wish Spring would get here!!! Miss YA!!!
@Zoz36 - It’s on its way
@BoulderChristina - Well, I can be more myself psychosexually there, and there are some trolls there but I can see them coming, and anyway on Fetlife my site name is fromsameplanet in case you start a site there and wonder where I am.
There are lesbians, there are drag queens and drag kings, there are people who wanna be whipped and spanked, there are people who wanna jerk off in adult diapers and there are people who wanna talk about interracial sex on Fetlife. Actually I found out about it from a Facebook friend who is FTM who used to be a Xanga and MySpace friend and since then I friended 2 of my other Facebook friends on their Fetlife sites. 1 FTM 1 MTF. I actually met the FTM friend in real life, about a week or two ago and he would like to see me again (he had 2 children the old fashioned way before transitioning so he is sort of a teletubby.) The MTF is one of my better friends on Facebook where she is more active than on Fetlife (she’s also a parent, but going through a very bitter divorce with a gay male lawyer representing her…oy yuy yuy…the gay male community is a fish of a different kettle than the transgendered community I do believe…)
Would that make you a Grand MILF?
it’s good to see you back around.
well right for food! Now all ya gotta do is score your first gig so I can welcome you to the ranks of the gainfully unemployed!
This is a good time to watch Office Space. Work? Nah, I don’t think I want to go.
Grandma Christina. How cool is that?
It’s okay to be strange, it’s okay to be stranger, but don’t be absent too much okay?
Break did you take a break you took it when i was gone
so much exciting stuff going on over there! good to see you.
hi bc… you’ll rock whatever, wherever you choose to land… just keep puttin’ it out there sister… all my best wishes… (and good luck bein’ a g’ma… that’s pretty groovy…)
Hey Girl, I want to wish you and your hubby the very best with these unexpected life changes. Positive thoughts headed your way. I am sure you will be successful, no matter what you do. Wishing you much happiness too.
yay new grandbaby!
You have so many exciting things coming up in your life and you will do well whatever you do. Get out there and rock the world like only you can!!!
You look WAY too young to be a grandmother! I think the writing idea is brilliant. A lot of changes but all good ones. Good luck with it all and yay to seeing you around here more! <3
Best of luck with your new endeavors!
glad to see you back here, I haven’t been around so much because I’ve been sick but I manage.
Good luck with your writings
One journey ends and another begins…^..^
I wish you luck and congratulations on your grandchild! =)
I think you freelance plan is wonderful. Good luck! YAY!
Baby on the way! Yay!
@ThereWillBeDragons - Haha, the whole “grand” thing is killing me!
@plantinthewindow - Hi John, I am around. I am just usually around five minutes here and ten minutes there. Starting the end of next week, I will be around much more
How have you been?
@HappierHeathen - Thursday is my last office day and I already secured my first book to edit, so I will join your ranks! Now, if that is all I secure, I may also join your couch…. Grandma – wonder when it will quit hurting my ego to be grandma?
@trunthepaige - Hiya Paige! I noticed you’ve been absent lately!
@promisesunshine - Exciting indeed… Let’s hope it becomes profitable or that grandbaby is going to need to get a damn job!
@xplorrn - Hello Music Man!! Let’s hope it all turns out, even the Grandma part!
@ccrider17 - Thanks, Carlos! I need all the well wishes I can find, I admit I am scared about half to death!
@ShimmerBodyCream - Yay! Now I just need to teach them to call me “auntie” and all will be well
@Grannys_Place - Thanks, Ruth! Exciting and terrifying are pretty close together! I appreciate your positive thoughts though, let’s hope it all works out.
Okay, I think everyone is missing the point here! Enough of these empathic responses! I am rolling on the floor, laughing my ass off because of that last line. . . . on the street with a sign, “will right for money” You need not worry about employment—-your calling is obviously STAND UP COMEDY!
@EmilyandAtticus - Thank you!! And you are right, in my opinion I AM way too young to be a grandmother
. You know, Cassie never consulted me before getting pregnant, or I would have asked her to wait until I was at least 40! Thanks for the well wishes, I need them. When I come back whining and crying in a few weeks, kick my ass and remind me that I need to quit whining and start working.
@firetyger - Thank you! I need it!
@godfatherofgreenbay - Did you come down with the flu? I just got over that myself, nasty stuff!
@SheTigerCat - Let’s hope it’s a good one!
@Chattie_Marie - Thank you!
@C_L_O_G - Thank you! Terrifying though, isn’t it? Keep your fingers crossed for me!
@SherryAngeLMysteriez - I am super excited about baby
Thank you!
@vexations - Haha Bill! I am glad you caught that, most did not!
The Hungry Hungry Hippie is a guy I met in Boulder last summer, or was it the summer before? Anyway, I am sure he was a writer, too!
welcome back and congratulations on the grandbaby!
You are such a busy bee! Best wishes and don’t burn yourself out.
Sorry to hear about your job. But at least glad to hear that you are going to write.
I hope the changes make life so great you can’t remember how you made it before! ;D

GOOD LUCK! YOU FUNNY.
Goodluck…and Godbless you!
I cannot lie.
I have missed you. I am sorry your company folded. But there is a lot more in your future for you to be please about, I am sure…. best of all your daughter’s baby!Delighted that your husband’s efforts are being funded. So there is bread on the table! I am delighted that you want to do independent writing and editing of different manuscripts. Yay!Enjoy life and be well.
Sounds like you have some really exciting things happening in your life!!!
Good luck with your new endeavors!!!
Welcome back and congrats on the grandbaby. Will it be a boy or a girl?
Good luck with your futur endeavors!
Life comes at you fast sometimes, doesn’t it??? Glad you are back and filling us in on what going on it your life. Lots of exciting things!
And congrats on the new grandbaby. Hope you will post pictures after the arrival! (and you don’t look old enough to be a grandma…..just sayin’)
@BoulderChristina - Excellent! Trading the illusion of security for the illusion of freedom…
There’s no law that says becoming a grandparent means becoming Aunt Bea, ya know. And grandkids are just so freakin’ awesome! You get to enjoy them as the people they are, without parenting them. Or at least, that’s how I do it. Someone else is responsible for the parenting of the little people. My job, as I see it, is to give them a break from being parented, and just hang out with them. It’s a blast.
Every now and then everything is allowed to be all about you. Even if you don’t get a chance to check up on everyone, it’s good to hear from you! Good luck with all your excitement, and congrats on the grand-baby!
@Erika_Steele - Thanks!
@PlatotheSmurf - Thanks! I alternate between excited and terrified, that’s exhausting enough!
@angys_coco -Thanks, Angy. I am working on a digital portfolio now, easier said than done so far!
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents - You and me both, lady! Thanks!
@heckels - Thanks, me too!
@dinhtrinh -
@xxMissforbiddenfruitxx - Ah, thanks!
@ZSA_MD - Thanks Zakiah! I am going to be around much more, you will be tired of me in no time!
@lonelywanderer2 - Exciting and terrifying!
@JustGoingAnywhere - Thank you!
@Shadowrunner81 - She’s a girl
@TheBlondNextDoor - Thank you!
@atticusfin - You know the way right to my heart! And sometimes it’s so fast we can’t keep up..
@HappierHeathen - Illusion is right, I haven’t even started full time yet and I have had the busiest three months of my life!
I hope you’re right about the Aunt Bea thing. I am already a little rounder and she isn’t even here yet!
@thegirlwiththecamera - Thank you
I am pretty excited!
@BoulderChristina - The truly ironic part, for me, is that I once offered a chance to come along for the ride to four others and each of them said they needed more stability and security than such a gig could offer. We were inside the HP-Loveland facility at the time.
I’m right about the Aint Bee thing, trust me. Amethyst and I have seven grandchildren! We’re rounder than we used to be but it’s not the young ‘uns who did it to us.
@HappierHeathen - Now THAT is irony!!
And I will blame the grandkid every chance I get, trust me!
Change, all very exciting! Numerous billion-dollar companies doing business today, started only a few years ago with just one person — one person who had a big dream and who started small.
You have the courage and the patience. Keep it up, day after day, and it will surely come to be as big as you want it to be.
Starting small, does not place any limit on how far you can go.Good things always take time. They always have and they always will, cyberspace notwithstanding.
Fantastic news! I’ll be sticking around to read more..
@BoulderChristina - Will do.
Hope things only get better from this point forward for you!
@BoulderChristina - Now that you mention it: We blame the grandkids for all kinds of things. It’s important that the grandkid chosen is nowhere near and totally incapable of causing any problem similar to the one you’re having. Infants are best, of course. A new infant gets all the blame for several months.
Those HP-Loveland folks are all now three or more jobs into their new lives of security and stability.
Please make noise when you finish that first gig and get the final remittance so we can party it up over here in celebration!
